Michael Escamilla, MD, Jungian analyst

Michael Escamilla is a Jungian analyst and psychiatrist in private practice in San Antonio, Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico, with over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and teacher. He has also conducted seminal studies in the genetics of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia in Latino populations, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health for which he has served as an adviser on psychiatric genetics research. He has collaborated with and mentored mental health professionals and researchers, led research studies and mentored graduate and fellowship students in the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala and South America. He continues this research work as a faculty associate at Rutgers University, since 2022.
