Summer Art Camp for Adults

Play, learn, and explore your creativity in this special summer camp for adults with artists Lisa Qualls and Judith Shamp

Friday - Sunday, June 4 - 6
9 am - 4 pm (1 hour lunch break)
$220 ($210 Jung Center members)

Embark on an adventure of creative discovery during this weekend art camp for adults of all levels of artistic experience. Three days of demonstrations and in-depth introductions to techniques (such as paper making, transparent layering and using recycled materials) will enlarge your artistic repertoire. We will also explore framing and presentation methods. Each day will be divided into a morning and afternoon session, with each artist teaching half a day. Both instructors will have a planned set of demonstrations but will also work with each individual toward problem solving and achieving personal goals. All necessary materials are provided. You are welcome to bring your favorite scissors, pencil, paints, glue, brushes and anything else that you like to work with. Students may also bring their own projects. Students are welcome to bring lunch.

During Judith Shamp's 30-year career in the arts, she has worked in textiles and fiber, collage, assemblage and 3-D constructs. Judith recently earned an MA in Humanities with emphasis in Mythology and Education from Pacifica Graduate Institute and teaches art in a private school in Houston.

Lisa Qualls received her BFA at the University of Texas at Austin. While teaching art in the classroom, she continued to study photography, ceramics, textiles and printmaking at Santa Chiara, Italy; Parsons and The Fashion Institute of Technology, New York; and the Southwest School of Art and Craft, San Antonio.
