Come explore mindfulness practice and learn how it can guide us to perform competently and ethically. Mindfulness, the intentional cultivation of open-hearted, present-moment awareness, can help us to awaken from our habitual mind states that prevent us from handling ethical situations clearly and acting skillfully. Ethical practice by mental health professionals requires self care in order to avoid burn-out and compassion fatigue. We will shine the light of mindfulness on issues such as self-care and critical thinking. This workshop offers a day of instruction, practice, and discussion which can help us to be more aware and compassionate as we make ethical decisions.

Micki Fine has been in private psychotherapy practice since 1989. She has taught Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction since 1994. She earned the credential of Certified Mindfulness Teacher from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn founded the Center for Mindfulness.
