Partnering on Purpose: Using a Meaning-Centered Approach to Enhancing Committed Romantic Relationships

Therapists Kelly Penrod and Michael Winters explore the ways we can improve our relationships by developing meaning.

What distinguishes an adequate relationship from one that is constantly growing and deepening? How can you guide your relationship to richer levels of meaning and purpose? How can each of us transcend our valid—but necessarily limited—individual perspectives to create a harmonious state of relational being?

Using theory and research on developing meaning in relationships, as well as examples drawn from their own relationship, Winters and Penrod will guide participants through meditations and other exercises to increase the meaning in their relationships. Individuals attending alone as well as those attending with a partner will benefit.

Kelly Penrod, LCDC, and Michael Winters, PhD, are a married couple and have received advanced training in Logotherapy, Viktor Frankl's meaning-centered psychotherapy. They have presented at international conferences and are currently writing a book, 100% Marriage: Partnering on Purpose. Kelly coordinates the Intensive Outpatient program at the Right Step, and both she and Michael maintain private practices. Michael is on the faculty of the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy and has taught many classes related to discovering life meaning.
