Learn how to move more comfortably and deeply during this weekend yoga workshop for students of all levels of yoga experience. We will discover the subtle energetic channels (Ida and Pingala Nadis) that run alongside the central channel (Sushumna Nadi) and intersect at the energetic centers, or chakras. Using slow, rhythmic movements coordinated with the breath, we will move into different standing and seated asymmetrical asanas (yoga postures). We will also practice specific pranayama (exercises to lengthen and control the breath) at the end of each asana session, which will balance and integrate the lunar and solar energies.
The Ida Nadi represents the lunar and feminine energies of the body, while the Pingala represents the solar and masculine energies. These channels are most often out of balance with one another, which creates disturbances in the mind and body that can result in poor mental and physical health. With the practice of asanas and pranayama, they can be easily accessed, balanced and integrated.
Each participant will receive personalized instruction throughout the workshop, and the group will learn by observing others as well as working with the other participants.
All levels of yoga experience can benefit and no previous yoga experience is necessary.
