Explore the deep-rooted connection between the body and the psyche through Kiai Qigong. Half lecture, half hands-on instruction, this workshop gives a general introduction to Kiai Jin Jitsu (the connection between body, energy, and mind), while teaching methods for self-healing.

Lecture and discussion will focus on the viewpoint of consciousness in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), its relation to each organ, and the emotional aspects of each organ. The body as Shadow will be introduced, with discussion of modalities for treatment of disease through enhanced awareness of unconscious patterns and repressed emotions.

The methods for self-healing include the use of sound, movement, breathing techniques, and visualizations, with the goal of improving physical health, achieving emotional balance, and creating space to free the mind of limitations and tensions. Associations between the movements and Jung's typology will be introduced, with particular attention to balancing sensation and intuition, thinking and feeling. The movements can be done from a standing or sitting (chair) position. All are welcome.
