Why do we perceive a fundamental dualism -- good/evil, physical/spiritual -- inherent in the nature of reality? Our need to resolve this apparent conflict is one of the most powerful forces driving the creation and evolution of our spiritual and mythological traditions. In this accessible course, we will articulate the essential question of duality and transcendence, discuss how different traditions have attempted to address that question, and then have a philosophical discussion on what the question means to us today -- and how we can formulate our own answers.
Tony Bullard is an engineer who has worked for the US Space Program at Johnson Space Center since 1997. He acts as a technical interface for the NASA flight control community to NASA's international partners in the International Space Station.
