Write the stories of your life's journey using the work of several women poets, including Mary Oliver, the woman whose poetry told us that "one day we would know what we had to do . . . to save the only life we could save" (from "The Journey"), the one who asked the question, "What will you do with your one wild and precious life?" (from "The Summer Day"). There will be both in-class and take-home writing assignments. The class is ongoing, and students may join either or both sessions.

Required reading: New and Selected Poems Volume One, Mary Oliver
