Experience the practical, enduring value of Buddhist meditation in this class for beginners and more experienced meditators. Using Sylvia Boorstein's It's Easier than You Think as our guide, we will explore the basic elements of Buddhist practice and the wisdom of Buddhism's approach to suffering. The class will cover readings from the book through lecture and discussion as well as provide meditation instructions and guided meditations. Brief, optional meditation homework assignments will allow students practical experience as well as intellectual understanding of Buddhist philosophy.
