Learn effective, easy-to-learn techniques that can help us cope more effectively with inevitable stresses and challenges. These practices, drawn from meditation traditions, help us become aware and conscious of mental states and thought patterns. We can then alter our self-defeating habitual reactions, allowing us to experience life moment by moment. As we become more mindful, we respond to situations in a more thoughtful manner and gain insights into the internal forces that drive us. Each week a new meditation will be taught and practiced during class.

Stanley Merrill has studied Buddhist philosophy and meditation for 15 years. He has completed the Dharma Apprenticeship Program (DAP) with Anam Thubten Rinpoche, founder and head teacher of the Dharmata Foundation, as well as a class preparing individuals to teach "Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction," taught by Jon Kabat-Zinn through the University of Massachusettes Medical School.
