Learn how meditation helps us cope with difficulties and prosper despite the stresses of everyday life. A practice that cultivates awareness, concentration, focus and insight, meditation can be used to relax the body, slow the breathing, and diffuse emotions, allowing us to make insightful responses instead of emotionally charged reactions. The equanimity we experience allows us to mindfully observe our own behavior patterns, gain insight into them, and discover how to view the world from a more compassionate, open and spiritual perspective.

Stanley Merrill has studied Buddhist philosophy and meditation for 15 years. He has completed the Dharma Apprenticeship Program with Anam Thubten Rinpoche, founder of the Dharmata Foundation. He has also studied Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with Jon Kabat-Zinn through the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
