Learn to access the deeper world beneath conscious awareness using active imagination, the technique developed by Jung to work with the unconscious. Dreams, waking images, fantasies, body postures and gestures, somatic experiences, feelings and actions, often occur below the level of our ordinary awareness. Active imagination provides a space for a creative revelation of our essential being. The course format will involve introductory lectures followed by class time for the actual practice of active imagination, along with a discussion of the process of active imagination as it evolves in the participant's work.
Required reading: Jung on Active Imagination, ed. Joan Chodorow.
