Explore the range of the voices that live inside you - voices that create authentic, vibrant storytelling, fiction or non-fiction. Voice expresses the narrator's personality, tone, attitude, and moral sensibility. In this class, we will consider examples of fictional and nonfictional voices to explore how they engage the reader. We will also attempt some "vocalizing" of our own as we discover the characters and personae we hear within us - including what we consider to be "our" voice. (The readings will be different from the Voice Matters workshop last fall.)
Eden Elieff, MFA, has taught both fiction and memoir writing to students of all ages and levels of experience, in schools and in private workshops. Her stories and essays have appeared in various literary magazines throughout the country, and her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
